• (personal half) Geteilt und halbgespalten: oben in Blau unter zwölf goldenen, halbkreisförmig angeordneten Sternen eine goldene, gestürzte Mondsichel; unten Rot, rechts fünf goldene, ein Kreuz bildende Scheiben, links eine goldene, hochovale Platte, belegt mit den schwarzen Antiquabuchstaben „Quis ut Deus".

Origin/meaning

The arms show the arms of the diocese impaled with the personal arms of the bishop.

The upper half of the personal arms refers to St. Mary. The five besants in a Christian cross, are 'Patenen' (small dishes to serve the host in church) and are canting for the village of Parthenen where he was born.

The round shield with the text Quis ut Deus refer to St. Michael, patron saint of the village of Gaschurn, where the bishop was baptised as a baby.
