The arms are partly canting, showing a grapevine (Wein=wine) rising from a stone (Stein). The composition already appears on the oldest known seal of the town, dating from the early 17<sup>th</sup> century. All later seals show the same composition, but the shape and size of the elements differs widely. The present composition dates from the late 19<sup>th</sup> century.
