Wappen von Gersfeld

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1866, but officially granted in 1950.

The brick wall symbolises the acquisition of city rights in 1359. The linden tree is a symbol for the former court in the village, as well as for the mighty linden tree that was standing on the local market square until 1814.
