Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 12, 1993.

The miner's tools in the upper right corner symbolise the importance of the mining in the area since the 15th century. The golden colour in the arms signifies the gold mining. The deer antler is taken from the arms of the former territory of Sondershausen to which the village belonged. It also symbolises the many forests and the deer therein in the district. The wavy bend symbolises the Schwarza river.
