GOROKHOVETS (Гороховец)

Federal subject : Vladimir Oblast
Rayon : Gorokhovets Rayon

Arms of Gorokhovets

Official blazon

В золотом поле на зелёной земле - пять чёрных тычков (шестов) и на каждом из них - по вьющемуся зелёному стеблю гороха.

Origin/meaning

The first arms were granted on August 16, 1781 and again on September 6, 1999.

The peas are a canting element, the name is derived from the word 'горох' (gorokh or peas). The upper half shows the lion of the Vladimir Oblast.

The arms can be used with or without the upper half.
