Origin/meaning

Gostini started in 18th century as the horse post station, ferry and tavern. The town was called Glasmanka, Trentelberg, Zarnumiests during its history.Town rights were granted in 1929, city rights were granted in 1933.

The arms were granted in 1938 and symbolized the ferry.
