GRIEBELSCHIED

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Birkenfeld
Verbandsgemeinde : Herrstein

Wappen von Griebelschied/Arms (crest) of Griebelschied
Official blazon
German In schräggeteiltem Schild vorne ein goldenes Eichblatt mit drei Eicheln in Grün, hinten ein blaubewehrter und -gezungter roter Löwe in Gold.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 9, 1962.

The arms are a combination of the lion of the arms of the Wild- or Rheingrafen, to whom the village historically belonged, and in the base an oak leaf and three acorns. The latter refer to the old oak tree in the village, a protected natural document.

Literature: Heyen und Zimmer, 1966
