GROSSAUHEIM

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Main-Kinzig Kreis (until 1972 Offenbach)

Wappen von Großauheim

Official blazon

(de)

Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1935, but were granted only in 1950.

The wheel is the symbol of the State of Mainz, as the village was a possession of Mainz from 1425-1803. The shells are the symbol of St. James, the local patron saint since the 14th century.
