Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 20, 1978.
The arms show a canting bull (the name means "field of large cattle") and a spade. The bull is taken from the previous arms of the village, the spade is taken from the arms of Gerchsheim. The red and yellow colours are taken from the different former arms.
The previous arms were adopted in 1901.
German | In Silber auf grünem Boden ein schreitendes schwarzes Rind, darüber ein rotes Rad.
These arms show the canting bull and the wheel of the State of Mainz, to which the region historically belonged from 1583-1803. This composition already was seen on the seal of the village from 1589. Later seals all used the same composition.
