Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 21, 1965.

The arms are based on the oldest known seals of the local court, dating from the 16th and 17^th century. The goose-foot is a rather common village sign and probably was used as the locals have been breeding goose for several centuries. The first known coloured image dates from the late 19^th century and showed the same colours as the present arms.
