Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 10, 1952, when the 150th anniversary of the community was celebrated.
The river in the base symbolisesthe three rivers that run through the moors (green hills in the base) in the municipality. The golden lion stands for the Palatinate (Pfalz), from where the first settlers had been recruited by the Bavarian queen Karoline whose father was Count of the Pfalz. By cultivation the moorland the vegetation changed from reeds to grain, whiuch is symbolised in the arms.
