HMS ARIADNE, ROYAL NAVY

Coat of arms (crest) of the HMS Ariadne, Royal Navy
Official blazon
English Blue: within a garland of vine gold a celestial crown gold with stars silver.

Motto: Swift and fearless.

Origin/meaning

The Garland of Vine symbolises the fact that Ariadne later married Bacchus God of Wine, who presented her with a Crown which later was set among the Stars of the Constellation Corona Borealis. The badge was approved in 1943.
