English Black; a demi-lion rampant ersed gold holding in the paws a cresset gold inflamed proper.

Motto: Nil sine labore

Origin/meaning

Captured from the French in 1793 by Captain Reeve (Cresset) who was detachet by Vice Admrial Gell (Lion). Ship renamed after capture. The badge was approved in 1946.
