Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 25, 1952.
The red and silver are the colours of the State of Minden to which the area historically belonged. The wavy bar symbolises the Mittellandkanal which runs through the municipality.
The point in base is a canting element, the name is derived from an old Germanic word meaning a pointed piece of soil.
