Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 11, 1976, but are much older.

Haigerloch was founded in the 13^th century by the Counts of Hohenberg. The oldest seals also date from the late 13^th century and show the arms of the Counts of Hohenberg, a divided shield of silver and red. When Haigerloch became a possession of Austria in 1381 and later of Hohenzollern, the arms were not changed. The arms have thus never changed since the 13^th century.
