Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 11, 1976, but are much older.

Haigerloch was founded in the 13th century by the Counts of Hohenberg. The oldest seals also date from the late 13th century and show the arms of the Counts of Hohenberg, a divided shield of silver and red. When Haigerloch became a possession of Austria in 1381 and later of Hohenzollern, the arms were not changed. The arms have thus never changed since the 13th century.
