Escudo de púrpura, com torre torreada de prata, com duas guaritas laterais no eirado inferior, aberta e lavrada de negro, rematada por âncora de ouro e assente em ponta de três barras ondadas de prata e verde. Coronel naval de ouro forrado de vermelho. Sotoposto listel ondulado de prata com a legenda em letras negras maiúsculas, tipo elzevir, «CAPITANIA DO PORTO DA HORTA».
