HATZENDORF

State : Steiermark
District : Steiermark

Hatzendorf.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 29, 1978.

In 1968, three separate communities were rolled in one and the present Gemeinde of Hatzendorf was created. In token of the former Gemeinden of Hatzendorf, Habegg and Stang, three pales were put into the shield.

The local parish church, going back to the 11th century, is dedicated to St Peter and St Paul, the Princes of the Apostles. Their attributes appear in the coat of arms as well.
