Parti d'azur à une fleur de lys d'or et de gueules à une nef d'argent, au chef d'argent chargé d'une fasce ondée d'azur.
Origin/meaning
The arms show in the chief the Seine river.
The main shield shows the fleur-de-lis, the historical French Royal arms, and the ship of Paris. The département is a newly created département, mainly consisting of suburbs of Paris. The historical region is the Pays-de-France (Land of France), hence the fleur-de-lis.
