Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 2, 1894.

The arms are taken from the old Cistercian monastery in the town. The monastery (founded in 1132) used the fountain as a canting symbol since 1525. In 1578 the village was separated from the monastery and the arms were split, on one side the canting symbol, on the other side the arms of the Cistercian Order. The origin and meaning of the heart is unknown. It appeared for the first time in the 17th century.
