Official blazon
French De gueules à la linotte contournée d'argent.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

As no older seals or arms were known, the arms were newly designed in 1965. The arms show a Common Linnet (Linaria cannabina), which is a Hänfling in German. The arms thus are canting, even though the name probably has a different (unknown) origin.

The arms are the only French arms showing this species of bird (except Illtal, which still uses the Henflingen arms).
