Origin/meaningThe deer antler is a canting symbol, the name means Hirschdorf, or deer-village. The three balls are the symbol of St. Nicholas, patron saint of the local church. The division line symbolises the Hase river. The colours are derived from the State of Münster, to which the village belonged until 1803.
