Origin/meaning

Inherited from the Maneuver Force, the blue of the field symbolizes the air and sea spaces, expresses the maneuverability of this Force, which is represented by the sword that is the cross of Santiago. the Burgundy cross symbolizes the most traditional values of our Army, and the fleurs-de-lis, the military spirit that the Kings of the House of Bourbon have embodied in the Royal Ordinances. The Coat of Arms was approved on 21 February 1997.
