Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 17, 1967 and in a smaller version on November 21, 1989.

The arms are those of the De Moffarts, Lords of Hoeselt from 1706 until the end of the 18th century. As there are no historical seals known for the village, the municipality adopted in 1967 the full arms of the family. In 1989 these were simplified to only the shield and crown.
