Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 26, 1994.

The arms are canting, iara is the name used for a mermaid. The rock symbolises the rock where the iara always sat down and sang, according to legend. The axes symbolise the first settlers in the area.

The shield is flanked by corn and soy beans, the main crops in the region.
