(de) Geviert von Rot und Blau; ein Herzscihld, darin auf Wellen ein Boot "en face", daraus wachsend ein nimbierter bärtiger Mann, in der rechten Hand einen Schlüssel, in der linken einen Fisch vor die Brust haltend; in 1 und 4 ein silberner Greif, in der rechten Pranke ein silbernes Schwert; in 2 und 3 eine aufrechtgestellte silberne Hand, beseitet und unten begleitet von je einem silbernen Stern.

Origin/meaning

The arms show a quartered shied, taken from the Hungarian noble Senestréy family, but the bishop was of Swiss origin. He probably took the arms of the family when he became ennobled by the Bavarian King upon his elevation to bishop.

The inecutcheon shows the historical arms of the Cathedral Chapter of Regensburg.
