Official blazon

(1843) Een zwart veld, met dry zilveren zwaenen 2 en 1,met roode bekken en beenen.
(1990) Gevierendeeld 1. in sabel tien schelpen van zilver, geplaatst 4, 3 en 3, 2. in sabel een zwaan van zilver, gebekt van keel, zwemmend op een water van natuurlijke kleur 3. in zilver een grafzerk van lazuur met twee uitkomende hertshorens van keel 4. in sabel drie omgekeerde zwaarden van zilver, schuin geplaatst en linksschuin geschikt; hartschild: in sabel drie zwanen van zilver, gebekt en gepoot van keel.

Origin/meaning

The first arms were granted on April 11, 1843. The new arms on April 17, 1990.

The origin of the three swans is not clear. The arms appear for Jabbeke on a 17^th century map. The municipality based their arms on this map when they applied for the arms.
