JOHNSDORF-BRUNN

State : Steiermark
District : Südoststeiermark (until 2015 Feldbach)

Wappen von Johnsdorf-Brunn

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 7, 1984.

To denote the long traditions of cultivating the lands around Johnsdorf, the arms contain two charges: The fleur-de-lis as used by the Pichl family, landowners, who changed their name to von Johnsdorf at about 1500. And a Roman altar, dedicated to the weathergod Jupiter Uxlimetanus, which was found during excavations at a temple district at Königsberg bei Brunn.
