D'argent, au fleuve serpentant d'azur, posé en fasce; l'écu timbré d'une couronne d'or, surmonté d'un heaume d'argent, grillé & liseré d'or, posé de fromt orné de son bourlet & lambrequins d'argent et d'azur au dessus en cimier un lévrier hissant au naturel. Supports deux lévriers de même tenant chacun une bannière à dextre aux armes de l'écu & à senestre aux armes de l'Empire qui sont: d'or, au double aigle de sable, portant dur la poitrine un écu de gueules à une fasce d'argent, le tout posé sur un tertre de sinople.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 26, 1851.

The meaning of the arms is no longer known. The arms may symbolise the Schelde river. The only known seals date from 1517 and 1616 and show the arms of the Land van Beveren, to which the village belonged at the time.
