KANGAATSIAQ

Incorporated into : 2009 Qaasuitsup

Arms of Kangaatsiaq

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1971.

The arms show a ptarmigan, which is very common in the area and play a role in some of the local legends. In the municipality there is also a small village named Aqigsserniaq, or the ptarmigan.
