Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on December 30, 2021.
The hand in benediction is a symbol of the orthodox faith of the villagers and of St. John Baptist, the local patron saint. The grapes symbolise the longtime tradition of wine making in the village. The well is a canting symbol, the name is derived from the Turkish words for 'black well'.
The motto means 'faith, water, wine'.
