Czech * (1909) Ein ovaler goldener Schild mit einem schwarzen Schildeshaupte, in welchem ein goldenes strahlendes Auge Gottes, erscheint. Im Schildes felde ver­schränken sich unterhalb zweier gekreuzter Bergmannschlegel ein schrägrechts gelegter Rechen mit einer nach links gewendeten Haue, der Rechen mit einem Eichnzweige, die Haue mit einem Aehrenündel unterlegt, alles dieses in natürlicher Gestalt und Farbe. In mitten dieser Gerätschaften erscheint die Jahreszahl 1909 in schwarzen Ziffern. Den Schild umgibt eine ornamentale bronze farbene Randeinfassung.

Origin/meaning

The city took the arms of the former city of Fryštát in 1968, and changed the red colour to silver in 1976.

From 1909-1948 the city had different arms, showing symbols of mining and agriculture, under a chief with the symbol of the all-seeing God. These arms were granted on April 3, 1909.
