===Origin/meaning===
The arms are based on a seal of the village dating from 1659. The current colours are used since the late 17th century as the arms are listed in Hozier (see below). Only in the 19th century also a version with other colours was used; both versions are listed by Schœnhaupt below.
 
The meaning is not clear; the crescent may derived from the arms of [[Ingersheim]], as the village was part of the Ingersheim parish until 1690.

Origin/meaning

The arms are based on a seal of the village dating from 1659. The current colours are used since the late 17th century as the arms are listed in Hozier (see below). Only in the 19th century also a version with other colours was used; both versions are listed by Schœnhaupt below.

The meaning is not clear; the crescent may derived from the arms of Ingersheim, as the village was part of the Ingersheim parish until 1690.
