Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in November 2017.

The new arms were designed after a contest in the municipality. The new arms are divided twice into four parts (quartered diagonally red and silver, and a quartered bar), symbolising the union of the four former municipalities. The colours are taken from the arms of the former municipalities. The bend also indicates the Aare and Gürbe rivers in the municipality.

The previous arms were adopted in 1911.

The division of the arms is taken from the arms of the Seftigen district, to which the village belonged. The axe and bull's heads were taken from older arms.
