KIRKEL

State : Saarland
District (Kreis) : Saarpfalz Kreis (until 1974 Homburg)
Additions: 1974 Altstadt, Kirkel-Neuhäusel, Limbach

Wappen von Kirkel/Arms (crest) of Kirkel
Official blazon
German In Blau über einem vom rechten unteren Schildrand ausgehenden aufsteigenden silbernen Schnörkel, ein von drei balkenweise gestellten silbernen Lindenblättern überhöhtes, balkenweise gelegtes goldenes Schwert.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 22, 1981.

The arms are a combination of elements from the arms of the former municipalities; the main colour and the circle are derived from the old arms of Kirkel-Neuhäusel, the sword is taken from the old arms of Altstadt. The linden leaves are a new element and represent Limbach (which originally meant Linden-stream). The number three symbolises the three former municipalities.
