District (Kreis) : Heilbronn (until 1973 Sinsheim)
Incorporated into : 1971 Eppingen

Wappen von Kleingartach

Official blazon

(de) In Rot auf grünem Dreiberg ein silberner Zinnenturm zwischen zwei grünen Laubbäumen, darüber ein goldener Schild mit drei liegenden schwarzen Hirschstangen.

Origin/meaning

Kleingartach was founded as a city by the Counts of Baden in 1298. The oldest seal was mentioned in 1322, but no images exist. The oldest known seal dates from 1514 and shows already the tower with the small shield. The tower is most likely the Leinburg castle. The small shield in the chief shows the arms of Württemberg. The trees were first used by Siebmacher in 1605 and the whole composition also appears on the seals in 1626. The arms have not changed since, but were abolished after the incorporation into Eppingen.
