KLIPPAN

Province (Landskap): Skåne
County (Län): Skåne län (until 1997 Kristianstads län)
Additions : 1974 Riseberga (1952 Färingtofta), Östra Ljungby (partly; 1952 Källna, Össjö)

Arms of Klippan

Official blazon

I sköld en fors av silver, utformad som en högerstråle, bildad ovan av en vågskura och nedan av en rak skura samt gränsande ovan mot blått och nedan mot svart.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1961 and were confirmed in 1974.

The arms show in a special way the local hydropower, a river falling over a black rock. The use of the waterfall in the Rönne river for the local paper factory already dates from 1573.
