Département : Haut-Rhin

Blason de Knœringue/Arms of Knœringue
Official blazon
French D'or à la bande de gueules; à la croix pattée de sable brochante.
English No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1978.

The red bend is derived from the arms of the medieval Lords of Knoeringen. The black cross is derived from a typical sculpture on the local church. The red and gold colours are also derived from the arms of the last Lords of Knoeringue, the Counts of Ferrette, who owned the estate until 1789.
