Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 16, 1971.

The arms are a combination of elements of the arms of two families, which ruled the village for an extended period of time. The blue pale in a silver field is derived from the arms of the Lords of Lüchau, whereas the silver bend in red is taken from the arms of the Lords of Reitzenstein. In addition to these a spindle was added as a symbol for the formerly important textile (house-)industry in the municipality.
