LA CHAPELLE-SUR-AVEYRON

Département : Loiret

Blason de La Chapelle-sur-Aveyron/Arms (crest) of La Chapelle-sur-Aveyron
Official blazon
French D'or à la croix d'azur chargée d'une aigle du champ et cantonnée de quatre fermaux de gueules.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on June 25, 2008.

The eagle is taken from the arms of the illustrious Coligny family, the clasps are taken from the arms of the Ozon, another family that ruled the village for some time. The azure refers to the river Aveyron which crosses the municipality. The general composition of arms is inspired by the arms of Pierre de Maridot, parish priest of La Chapelle-sur-Aveyron (17th and 18th centuries).
