Official blazon

Escudo de verde, cacho de uva folhado e com seu engaço de ouro e uma infusa de prata alinhados em faixa; em chefe, estrela de oito pontas de ouro, carregada com uma vela acesa de vermelho; ponta ondeada de prata e azul. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro: “ FREGUESIA DE LAGOA “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 17, 1996.

The candle symbolizes and represents factories wax candles, which existed in the parish. The jug similarly symbolises the pottery industry.
The bunch of grapes symbolizes the wine production, which gives rise to the famous wines of Lagoa.

The green colour refers to the agriculture and the base to the, now dry, lagoons and ponds after which the parish is named.
