Official blazon

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: A yellow rectangular embroidered device with arced scrolls attached above and below, centered thereon a red dream catcher beaded and webbed garnet with red beads in the web, dangling three red feathers tipped garnet, beaded red, gold and, garnet descending to base between two red spears detailed garnet points up, the scroll above inscribed “BRAVES” and the scroll below inscribed “BATTALION” all in garnet letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height; all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) garnet border. The overall dimensions 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: On a gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a gold pommel between two garnet spears saltirewise points up, passing through a blue disc below a recessed maroon arrow head doubled gold, all with a continuous red scroll arched across the top passing behind the upper points doubled gold at the sides and passing over the spears in base, inscribed “LAKE GIBSON” at the top and “HIGH SCHOOL” in base, all in gold letters.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Garnet and gold are the school colors. The scrolls inscribed “Braves Battalion” refers to the Indian Brave as the school mascot. The dream catcher conveys the cadets’ belief that “catching the dream of excellence is no accident.”

Shoulder Loop Insignia: Garnet and gold are the school colors. The school mascot is an Indian Brave.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and the Shoulder Loop Insignia was approved on 24 October 2006.
