LANGENBRUCK

Canton : Basel-Landschaft

Wappen von Langenbruck/Arms (crest) of Langenbruck

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on March 5, 1939.

The arms show a canting wooden long bridge (Lange Brücke) and an Agnus Dei. The village is named after a Roman bridge, which was discovered in 1935. The Agnus Dei is taken from the seal of the Schöntal Abbey, to which the village historically belonged. The abbey used the lamb already in its 13th century seals.

The blue and silver colours are those of the former Lordship of Waldenburg.
