Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on February 25, 2021.
The wavy bars symbolize the general landscape of Ribay, alternating between an aquatic environment made up of rivers such as the Aisne or the Laire, as well as ponds, and a very diverse plant environment of hedgerows, vast natural meadows or woods.
This natural wealth naturally encourages people to all kinds of outdoor activities such as hiking, represented by the walking stick. The Crosier is the symbol of Bishop Saint Audouin (Ouen), the patron of the parish of Le Ribay.
The chief symbolises the two fortified buildings of the town, which are the castle mound of La Cour and the former stronghold of the Val.
The cross is taken from the arms of the family of Moré who for a long time was lord of the fief of the Val, to which the town belonged.
The blackberries are a canting element.
The shield is surrounded by a sheaf of corn and a sheaf of alfalfa, referring to the agricultural character of the area.
