Origin/meaning

This arms were suggested by the Archives of Pas-de-Calais in 1996 and adopted by the municipality.

The arms recall the gift that was made by the Count of Flanders, Philippe d'Alsace, of a fishing boat to the monks of the abbey of La Capelle in what is now the village, founded in the eleventh century and destroyed in 1347 by the English.

The red field is that of the arms of Philippe d'Alsace.
