LIINAKHAMARI (Лиинахамари)

Federal subject : Murmansk Oblast
Rayon : Pechengsky Rayon

Liinakhamari.jpg

Official blazon

На голубом поле французского щита каменный цветок с серебряно-черными лепестками, окруженный черными скалами с серебряными вершинами, над ними золотое северное сияние.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1991.

The arms show a 'stone flower' as Liinakhamari means in Finnish " flower of the stone". The village is surrounded by hills, so the flower is shown looking like the hills. The chief shows the Northern Lights as an indication of the Northern latitude.
