Arms of Linkuva

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 17, 1995.

The chief shows the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary Scapular, one of the most beautiful churches in Lithuania. The church is built on a hill and can be seen from afar, hence it is placed in the chief.

The trefoils are a symbol of the agricultural character of the municipality. The colour gold indicate the rich soils. The chevron symbolises the bend in the Muša river, and is a canting element (a bend is a linksta in Lithuanian).
