Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1938.
The arms show the canting linden tree and a water mill wheel, which symbolises the Lintorfer Mühle, which was one of the main mills in the area. The small hill in the base of the shield symbolises the fact that the town originally was built on a hill.
Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
