The arms show the small arms of the counts of [[Meissen]] with St. Mary as supporter. The [[Margravate of Meissen|Counts of Meissen]] acquired in the 14th century the castle and village of Lobeda. The oldest known seal dates from the late 14th century and already shows the same composition, as did all later seals.
