Origin/meaning :
The arms were adopted in 1990.

The arms show in the first and fourth quarter a pine tree for the many forests in the area, and in the second and third quarter two wavy bars for the many rivers and streams. The escutcheon is taken from the arms of the city of lobensteinLobenstein.

The previous arms were used from ?? until 1990.

The arms show the tower in the city of Lobenstein surrounded by symbols of the local industries The wheat-ear symbolises agriculture, the pine tree forestry, the paper the paper factories, the mining tools the historical silver and iron mining, the cogwheel for the heavy industries and the microchip for the computer and electronics industry. The waves symbolise the Saale.
