Origin/meaning

The Lordship was situated in the current state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern around the town of Stargard. Already in the 13th century it came to Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The arms show a hand holding a ring, which was part of the arms of Mecklenburg-Schwerin until 1918. The arms are also used by Fürstenberg/Havel.
